The Philosophy of Language/Chomsky Reading Group was a reading group for issues in the Philosophy of Language and related topics in the Philosophy of Linguistics and Philosophy of Mind. The group was run by postgraduate students and staff in the philosophy department in Durham University, and was open to all students and staff. The topics were decided by the group, with all suggestions for reading welcome. There were no fixed restrictions on the topics. The meetings happened fortnightly on Wednesdays at 3.30pm in Room 010 48/49 Old Elvet, usually followed by a trip to a coffee shop or a public house. Each meeting was based on a reading which had been read beforehand, usually a journal article or a chapter from a book.
